Be it any season. We never say no to pani puri. Such a mouth-watering Indian snack. This famous street food doesn’t need any introduction. The mixture of potato, onion, chickpeas, and coriander chutney stuffed in crispy puri drenched in sour and spicy mint-flavored water (pudina pani) quickly fills one’s mouth. Moreover, it takes taste buds on a journey to heaven. No wonder it’s the most famous street snack along the length and breadth of India. Also known as gol gappa, puchka, pakodi, Pani Puri, etc.
However, if you have been craving this zesty snack recipe and want to make it yourself in your kitchen, here is the easiest pani puri recipe.
How To Make It
- Firstly, take whole wheat flour, and sooji in a bowl and mix.
- Then, add lukewarm water and knead to make dough of medium-soft texture.
- Now, cover the dough with a damp cloth and keep it aside for 15 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pan to prepare pani puri.
- After 15 mins knead the dough once again for a minute and divide it into 4 equal parts.
- Make the balls from the dough.
- Roll the dough ball on a lightly floured surface to make a thin circle.
- After that, cut the circle into a small 4-5 cm circle using a cookie cutter.
- Once the oil is hot, reduce the heat to medium.
- Slide the puri into the hot oil and fry until they puff up and then flip it to the other side and let them become golden brown on both sides.
- Remove the puri on a plate lined with a kitchen towel.
- Cool them and store them in an airtight container.
- Finally, eat along with the pani and enjoy!
NOTE: You can even use airfryer.
For Stuffing:
Take boiled black channa and chopped onion.
For Paani:
Take dry mint powder, roasted cumin powder, citric acid, black pepper, ginger powder, a pinch of hing add all ingredients into the water.
