Ingredients
  • Sooji (semolina) – 1 Cup
  • Onion – 1 big
  • Green Chilies -2
  • Ginger - 1/2 Tsp
  • Mustard seeds- 1tsp
  • Cumin seeds- 1tsp
  • Hing
  • Curry leaves
  • Pinch of haldi (asafoetida)
  • Salt (as directed by your dietitian)
  • Water - 1 Cup
  • Ghee Or Olive Oil - 2 Tsp

    • Put the hing, green chilies, ginger, and curry leaves.
    • Now saute for about a minute. Now add the chopped onions and cook until transparent.
    • Now add water and add salt as needed. Mix well.
    • When the water comes to a boil add sooji and keep stirring. There should not be any lumps.
    • Cover and cook on a low flame until the water evaporates.
    • Now remove the lid and stir once again.
    • Your healthy sooji upma is ready. Serve hot and enjoy!
