Ingredients
Oil
2- 3 red chillies
1- medium-size onion and tomato
8-10 Curry leaves
Hing
1- tsp Mustard seeds
1- top urad dal and 1 top chana dal
This tomato chutney is spicy and tangy, and also has a pleasantly smooth texture. It’s a flavourful and mouth-watering chutney.
Firstly, in a large kadai, heat oil.
Add urad dal, chana dal, and red chilli.
Saute them on medium flame till dal turns golden brown.
Further, add garlic, also chopped tomatoes and continue to saute.
Saute till the water evaporates completely and tomato reduces in size.
Allow the mixture to cool completely and then transfer to a small blender.
Further, blend to a smooth paste without adding any water.
Also prepare the tempering, heat oil in a small kadai.
Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds, urad dal, hing and curry leaves.
Allow the tempering to splutter and pour the tempering over tomato chutney.
